The Last Days Bulletin

MICHAEL JACKSON: Part of me is really bored of hearing about this tragic shell of a human being's "shocking" middle-aged demise. Part of me is upset because the nation is in the midst of a serious crisis, and is being led by madmen, but this talented yet pitiful man-child is all anyone cares about. And then there is the part of me that is baffled and downright puzzled about how a person with that much fame, talent, money, and the undying adoration of maybe over a billion people on this planet, could have been as pathetic as he turned out to be.

In all likelihood, this man-child was a pedophile, or something very close to it. He admitted on prime-time national television that he shares his bed with random children. Maybe he diddled, maybe he didn't - I don't doubt for a second that unethical people took advantage of this weak, pathetic "King of Pop" on a regular basis. Either way, no sane person would ever let their children around him. It is painfully obvious the man-child was a prescription drug addict of the highest order. Scores of plastic surgeries intended to make him beautiful instead made him possibly the ugliest and most bizarre appearing person anyone could imagine. And there will always be the mystery of how Michael Jackson became the first known person in human history to morph skin colors. Or, for that matter, why these supposed children of his look to me like they're from Norway.

Then, beyond Jackson himself, there's the media and public reaction. Many times in the last week I've had to grit my teeth because all I kept hearing is how this is a 'JFK Moment.' WHAT THE F*@! The assassination of John F. Kennedy - an overall honorable man, his younger brother Teddy aside, and the alleged infidelty aside - plunged a generally happy, confident, and moral America into pure chaos, rot, and despair nearly overnight; and the nation has never recovered! Most of the twits making this blasphemous claim were not born in 1963. Yours truly wasn't born until the Carter Administration, but I try hard to understand and learn from our history, and also to keep things in perspective. These fools have lost their man-child idol, and it's an event on the scale of the Kennedy killing. Or 9-11, Pearl Harbor, Hurricane Katrina, Man on the Moon, take your pick. What an insult to the memory of John F. Kennedy, and what an insult to anyone of intelligence and patriotism! And what a sick and sad commentary on the United States of America in 2009, where celebrity culture continues to trump all else in the world for far, far too many people. And the media peddles it out just like it's hardcore pornography, in order to keep the fools dumbed down and in their place.

Meanwhile, in the real world, the nation is literally falling apart at the seams. We now have the highest jobless rate - just going by the government's 'official' numbers - in 26 years. North Korea and Iran are exploding. And the White House and Congress are focused on taxing us to breathe, and forcefully search our homes to ensure we're using only government-mandated lightbulbs! But nobody cares, because Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, has died and we've all lost of a piece of childhood. Just like their tragic idol lost his childhood at the hands of his brut of a father. Well, BOO-HOO. Michael Jackson was only a man (I think), and a very strange and very flawed man. He was a person with the whole world in his hands, and yet hated himself. He is no role model for any sane man, woman, or child. He could dance, so what? So could Bettie Page, and she'll always be a gazillion-times easier on the eyes than this freak. He could sing, so what? So can thousands, maybe even millions, of other talented vocalists in this world. Move on people, this freak show is over. Or at least it should be: Never Land, or pedo-land or whatever one wants to call it, will probably be the next Graceland - another living shrine to a tragic and pathetic fallen idol. Elvis, at least, had the good sense not to be a pedophile or appear to be one, and I'm sure he rolled over in grave again and again when his little girl "married" Michael Jackson.

Before I finish with the man-child idol, has anyone ever considered that he may have been the reincarnation of another famous 'boy king' - King Tut? Jackson's latter-day look is eerily reminiscent of how ancient Egyptians are depicted - the bone structure and what not. Wouldn't it be wild if Jackson went out with his own custom burial mask? The scary part is, I could see that actually happening. Apparently they're holding the funeral at the home of the LA Lakers on Tuesday. How quaint.

Foreclosure filings in the United States soared to a record high in the first quarter of '09, and we haven't hit bottom yet ... The consumer price index fell for the first time since 1955, a sure sign that deflation is here to stay for awhile ... Here's an interesting story about a Michigan family who is cutting back, learning 'almost lost' survival skills, and finding happiness doing so. It's somewhat reassuring to know that in these complicated times some people are able to successfully embrace a more simple life. Of course, it helps if one has inherited a 40-acre farm, but I digress ... One of the largest operators of shopping malls has filed the largest property bankruptcy in U.S. history ... Retailer Filene's Basement is up for sale.

DHS head honcho Janet Napolitano issued a half-hearted apology for offending veterans in the now-notorious DHS report on 'right-wing extremism' ... Meanwhile, radio host Michael Savage has joined a group that is suing Napolitano ... While the current regime is feeling the heat for the offending DHS report, Kurt Nimmo has revealed it was actually written while George W. Bush was still in office ... Rosa Brooks, a former Los Angeles Times columnist who has now joined the regime as a Pentagon adviser, published a piece calling for 'direct government support for public media' and creating licenses to govern news operations.

SPORTS
Wow, just wow. The New York Yankees lost 10-2 in the first game to be played at the new Yankee Stadium. A bad omen, or just a fluke? ... My Detroit Red Wings won their first game of the playoffs, and Chris Osgood can hold his head high. Sorry, Columbus Blue Jackets fans, your guys are just not ready for prime time ... Here in Beantown, the Boston Bruins won an entertaining playoff opener against the hated Montreal Canadiens ... Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Boston Celtics great, and current general manager, Danny Ainge, who is recovering from a mild heart attack ... I just finished reading Sal Paolantonio's How Football Explains America, and it is a masterpiece. Required reading for anyone who loves the game of football ... Happy trails to John Madden, one of pro football's all-time great coaches and broadcasters. Madden has announced his retirement at the age of 73.

Are you concerned about the hordes of illegal aliens who steal American jobs, commit heinous crimes, and stretch our resources thinner and thinner with each passing year? If you answered 'yes' to one or both of these questions, the Department of Homeland Security believes you may be a 'right-wing extremist', and a potential terrorist ... It's worth noting that gun sales continue to surge ... Pat Buchanan chimes in with John Demanjuk and the true haters, the sad story of an elderly Ukrainian-born man who has been cleared beyond doubt of being notorious Sobibor prison guard 'Ivan the Terrible,' but yet is still being prosecuted (and persecuted) by the German government ... The regime in North Korea has deemed the six-party nuclear disarmament talks as 'useless,' and will resume production of arms-grade plutonium ... The government of Pakistan has signed a peace deal that will enshrine Sharia Law under the Taliban in the country's 'Swat Valley' region ... What a sad and horrifying way to end a great career: Legendary music producer Phil Spector has been convicted of second-degree murder ... OBAMA NATION
His Lord and Highness is now making 'immigration reform' one of his top priorities, proposing a plan that would grant citizenship to millions of illegals. It is basically the same plan that Bush/McCain/Kennedy failed so miserably to pass two years ago. Because, with so many Americans out of work, what better way to stimulate the economy than to ensure hordes of Mexicans and other foreign nationals are legitimatized and allowed to compete for a relatively scant few jobs with native-born Americans? Makes perfect sense to me (obviously I'm being sarcastic if you, the reader, couldn't tell; not always easy to convey sarcasm in text) ... One coward in the GOP, Texas' Sen. John Cornyn, is applauding Lord Obama on his 'immigration reform' efforts ... Speaking of being an illegal, Hawaii lawmakers are moving to recognize the Honolulu apartment building where Lord Obama lived as a child as a 'national landmark'. Meanwhile, there is still zero concrete proof Lord Obama was actually born in Hawaii, or anywhere else in the United States ... The White House lies through its teeth and says Lord Obama never bowed to the Saudi king, when the evidence clearly shows that he did.

Mainstream Media Watch
It's the ultimate in broadcast stupidity. Boston's NBC affiliate is refusing to air Jay Leno's new 10 p.m. show, in spite of the fact Leno is a Boston-area native and has proven himself a ratings draw for nearly two decades now. Channel 7 seems to think another hour of their sensationalist, tabloid-driven 'news' (which has been taking a nose-dive in viewership over the last year, by the way) will draw better ratings, even as the FOX affiliate in town already has that market covered. Their affiliation with NBC is now in jeopardy, although this writer fails to see what other viable options NBC has as far as a replacement Boston affiliate goes. Furthermore, yours truly predicts Leno's new show is going to be a huge success, Boston or no Boston.

Lord Obama and the rest of the G20 leaders proclaim themselves saviors and arrogantly declare they 'fought back against the recession' ... Russian second-in-command Dmitry Medvedev fittingly hails Obama as 'my new comrade' ... Lynn Stuter writes about how a Washington state lawyer and his family were harassed by the DHS, state police, and local police after filing suit to discover Lord Obama's true identity and nationality ... An immigration judge ruled on Wednesday that Lord Obama's illegal alien aunt from Kenya, Zeituni Onyango, can stay in the United States for another year while she makes another asylum bid ... Lord Obama is being blasted, and rightfully so in my humble opinion, for bowing all the way to his waist to the Saudi king, leader of one of the world's most repressive and inhumane nations ... Job losses continued to soar during the month of March, as the private sector shed 742,000 jobs, a new record ... Auto sales plunged 37 percent in March, amazingly a lesser drop than was forecast by industry experts ... The economic crisis is taking its toll on everyone. Sadly, the unborn are no exception: The number of abortions and vasectomies is on the rise in the United States, while women are having a harder time paying for birth control ... City and state governments across the land are hurting for cash. Naturally, they’re digging deep into our wallets like they've always done during times of fiscal hardship, only now they are doing so in rather unique ways, to say the least ... A 15-year depression? Hard to fathom, but that is exactly what the honorable Congressman Ron Paul is predicting will be the result of the government's foolish 'stimulus measures.'

It's for the children, don't you know? My fellow cigarette smokers, brace yourselves, the new federal tobacco tax went into effect on Wednesday. Ostensibly, the reason behind the new tax is to finance the massive expansion of government health care for children. We won't even get into the question of why taxpayers should be held responsible for the well-being of other people's children. Ostracizing and harassing cigarette smokers alone is enough of an incentive for these socialists/fascists (take your pick) to hike up the tobacco tax. A pack of cigarettes is now more $8 here in Massachusetts, putting a major strain on smokers' budgets. Just speaking for myself, quitting would be the smart thing to do for the wallet (and the lungs), but it would also be Un-American! Yes, to quit would mean - figuratively speaking - bowing down and kissing the feet of tyrants and traitors. It would mean capitulation, and I don't do capitulation. As long as tobacco is still legal - and the day will come when it is outlawed altogether - I will find a way to smoke, even if it does kill me ... A Connecticut school system has outlawed all forms of physical contact between students, even hugging!

Culture in Decline
The case of a New Jersey teenager who was strip-searched by school officials for allegedly possessing ibuprofen will be heard by the Supreme Court next month ... Also from the Garden State, a 14 year-old lass is in trouble with the law for posting nude photos of herself to her MySpace page ... Words cannot describe how sickening this is - A Houston lawmaker has introduced a 'Kill Your Baby' bill in the Texas legislature, intended to drastically lighten sentences for mothers who kill their babies within the first year of the baby's life.

Economic Unrest
Consumer spending actually went up in the month of February, but personal income continues to fall ... Unemployment in the Bay State is likely to reach its highest level since 1992 very soon ... London Guardian piece about the new Hoovervilles springing up in America, focusing on the settlement known as 'Tent City' in Sacramento ... Our man, Congressman Ron Paul, is leading a delegation demanding to know if there is really any gold at Fort Knox ... Popular culture and the stock market. OBAMA NATION
Former governor, and 2008 GOP presidential candidate, Mitt Romney left a hell of a legacy behind when he departed the Corner Office in January of 2007. A legacy fit for any big spending, social engineering, half baked liberal (exactly the reason why this man Mitt should never be seriously considered for high office by any true conservative.) Massachusetts' mandatory health insurance scheme is starting to come apart at the seams, and offers a chilling preview of what's to come for the rest of the country once the dictator and his minions in Congress make 'universal care' a reality ... South Carolina's governor has penned a good op-ed on why his state says 'thanks, but no thanks' to the phony 'stimulus' money ... Used to be we only named schools and other public buildings for presidents after they had passed on, or at the very least until after they had left office. An 'alternative' junior high school in Oakland is to become known as the Barack Obama Academy, supposedly by the popular demand of its students ... In the wake of the flap over the dictator's 'Special Olympics' slip on late night television, bowling is not the dictator's biggest problem with the handicapped. The nationwide unemployment rate for the disabled officially stands at 13.2%, with no small thanks to illegal alien labor ... Some of the nation's leading liberal/socialist economists are laying into their man Obama over the dictator's plans to (further) bail out the banks.

Congratulations to the University of New Hampshire Wildcats hockey team on an amazing comeback victory to advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament ... Meanwhile, the Connecticut Huskies men's basketball team is in the Final Four for the third time in school history ... Josh Beckett will be on the mound for opening day at Fenway Park ... How did the best team in the National Hockey League, my Detroit Red Wings, get shutout by the worst team in the league? ... Speaking of the Wings, the fate of the world-famous Joe Louis Arena is in doubt.
